'Art in the Park' Bundeena

I will be participating in the Bi -annual Bundeena Public School Fundraiser.

This years funds will go towards upgrading the playground and computers at the school.

There will be an exhibition of paintings from the local arts community as well as music, food/drink stalls.

I was born in Manchester in the UK and moved to Australia in 1998. Since moving to Sydney, I have predominantly lived in the Eastern suburbs.

I completed a BFA in Fine Arts (Honours in drawing) in 2013

and I continue to develop my art practice both out in the field and from my home studio.

Through the medium of drawing and painting, I am able to explore my ongoing interest in the way that we perceive the world as a result of our visual, sensory and tactile experiences.

I believe that our essential connection with nature is diminishing in an increasingly, alienating preference for the digital platform. It is for this reason that I prefer to reject the use of photographs to inform my memory.

The immediacy of drawing is for me, a much more effective vehicle for me to express my physical connection with the sensorial aspects of my environment.

I often blend drawing techniques into my paintings, through both the structure and mark making.
